Who can audit your cybersecurity site for AEO?

Jeet Bhanushali conducts detailed AEO audits for cybersecurity companies. When a CISO asks ChatGPT for the best EDR, Jeet finds out why you're not on the shortlist: blocked AI crawlers, weak MITRE and NIST citations, or reviews that contradict your site. Start with a free scan.

Who this is for: cybersecurity companies that want to know if AI engines recommend them before a buyer ever books a demo.

What the audit checks

On your site and in the AI answers, live on the call.

Sources your security claims cite

Every NIST, MITRE ATT&CK and CISA reference on your pages checked: the link works, it points to the right control, technique or advisory, and it backs the claim made next to it. AI engines lean on sourced claims, and a broken or wrong citation on a security page costs you the trust you are selling.

AI crawler access

Bot by bot: GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and Googlebot. Search bots and training bots are separate, so you can block training and still get cited. We check WAF and bot protection rules, robots.txt and your XML sitemap.

Pages buyers ask about

Comparison, integration, compliance and use-case pages, plus your docs and threat research: which ones exist, which ones answer the question, and which ones are missing.

Trust and technical signals

Named experts, certifications and customer proof written so AI can quote them, plus security headers and page speed. We check llms.txt too, but Google says AI Overviews need no special files, so it is never the first fix.

Are you in the answer?

Unbranded and branded buyer prompts for your category in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Who gets named, where you show up, and the AI referral traffic already in your GA4 and Bing Webmaster Tools.

How AI describes you

Whether the answers get your product right: old product names, dropped features, wrong pricing or a competitor's claims. We name the pages that should carry the correct facts.

Who they cite instead

The sources the engines lean on: G2, Gartner Peer Insights, Reddit, GitHub, analyst lists and competitor comparison pages. Which ones you can get onto, and which mention you without a link.

What crawlers actually see

Your page in a real browser next to what each crawler gets. Pages built in JavaScript often reach AI crawlers half empty. Plus status codes, canonicals and indexing.

Structured data and your entity

JSON-LD schema (Organization, Product, author, sameAs links) that matches what is on the page, and semantic HTML, so the engines' knowledge graph knows who you are, what you sell and who you sell to.

Answer-first content

Conversational questions with the answer in the first lines, short paragraphs, lists and tables for facts, and your engineers' technical detail in a form LLMs can read and cite. Your own research and data beat re-quoted stats.

Freshness and internal links

Visible "last updated" dates on the pages that matter, how deep they sit, and whether internal links connect each topic to its product, industry and proof pages.

Works on any stack: WordPress, Webflow, Framer, HubSpot, Next.js or custom code. You leave with a 90-day plan, fixes in order.

What you get

A free call to learn your business and the buyer questions you want to win. Then the detailed audit ($1,500): I audit your site and walk you through what I found on a second call, on your data and your pages, not slides.

Your AEO gaps

What the AI engines say about your category today, who they name, and what is missing on your site.

Fixes in order

Crawler access first, then content structure, then schema, then authority. Split into developer tasks and content tasks.

Competitor moves

Your share of voice against competitors: who wins the answers in your space, why, and the specific moves to counter them.

A 90-day plan

Yours to keep. Run it yourself, hand it to your team, or use it to judge whoever you hire.

Have ready: Search Console access, your top 3 to 5 competitors, and the buyer questions you most want to win.

Questions security teams ask

Do you need access to our systems?

No. The audit runs on your public site and the AI engines' public answers. Search Console is optional: share your screen or send an export, with no API connections.

What if our WAF blocks AI crawlers?

That is one of the first things we check. You get the list of crawlers being blocked and the rules behind it, and your security team decides what to allow.

What is an AEO audit?

It checks whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews can find, read and cite your site, and what they say about you today. An SEO audit asks if a page can rank. An AEO audit asks if AI can reuse it and name you.

Do we need to rewrite all our content?

No. We start with the pages that already rank or that buyers ask about. Most fixes are structure and accuracy, not starting over.

Is there a trick to get cited by ChatGPT?

No. Google says AI Overviews need no special markup or files. What works is crawler access, clear answers, correct facts and mentions in the places the engines trust.

How much does it cost?

The scan and the first call are free. The detailed audit is $1,500, one time. If you want the fixes done for you after, that is quoted separately.

How often should we audit?

After a redesign, migration or CMS change, and about once a quarter. AI answers change month to month, so one check is a snapshot.

What happens after the audit?

You keep the plan and run it yourself. If you want it done for you, that is SEO and AEO for cybersecurity companies.

What clients say

★★★★★I had a consultation with Jeet for SEO and AEO strategy. I came in with a specific goal: rank my website on Google in the next 8 months. Jeet did a real-time audit of my site during the call itself, which I didn't expect. He broke down the entire approach into a 3-pillar strategy and shared a lot of practical insights specific to my industry. What I appreciated most was his patience. He took the time to really understand what I was trying to build before giving any advice. After the call, my perspective on SEO completely changed. Genuinely glad I had this session.Leon JoseRead on Topmate ↗
